Highway-Types of Terrain

The topography of the land has an influence on the alignment of roads and streets. It affects 

horizontal alignment, but it has an even more pronounced effect on vertical alignment. To categorized variation in topography, engineers generally separate it into 3 classification which is level, roiling and mountainous terrain.
